If you could time travel back to the 1950's by simply walking through the front door of a house, this is it.  A house for sale in Dallas, Texas is a mid-century modern time capsule for fans of original wood kitchen cabinets, vintage pink appliances and Formica counters. As one realtor says, the home looks like it could be a set for the television show, Mad Men.

The 1954 home, known as the Smith House, was designed and built by famed architect Gordon Nichols in the highly sought after Disney Streets neighborhood in north Dallas. Roads in the area are named after Disney characters and this throwback gem on Pinocchio Drive is being sold by Virginia Cook Realtors for $665.000.

Since 1994, the house has been meticulously maintained to preserve its post-World War II glory by its current owner, graphic designer Carlos Cardoza. According to blogger Lidija Grozdanic of inhabitat.com, Cardoza "embraced bubblegum colors, sci-fi shapes and technicolor textiles as some of the trademarks of the era. Thanks to his efforts, the house looks as if it hasn’t aged a day."

The Smith House is being billed by Dallas realtors as a shining example of mid-century design which is based on creating a seamless connection from the interior of the house to the outside through the use of open floor plans and lots of glass and natural light. This rambler style 50's time capsule boasts 2240 square feet, four bedrooms, three and a half baths and a retro pool area, perfect for a round of martinis with friends!
